Shasum can be easily installed through perl-Digest-SHA packages on Amazon Linux 2. Let’s jump on the installation part.

Prerequisites

  • Amazon Linux 2
  • sudo privileges

Install Shasum on Amazon Linux 2

Step 1. Update the yum packages.

sudo yum update

Step 2. Install shasum.

sudo yum install perl-Digest-SHA

Step 3. Verify the installation.

shasum -v

Output:

5.85
