When it comes to installing podman-compose on CentOS 7 it follows the same procedure as on the other RHEL-based distros and there are three ways to achieve it. You only need to make sure that python3 and pip3 are already installed on your machine.
Prerequisites
- Podman
- Python3 and pip3
Install podman-compose using PyPI
To get the latest stable podman-compose
version using pip3, run:
pip3 install podman-compose
Install podman-compose from GitHub
Get the latest development version from GitHub.
pip3 install https://github.com/containers/podman-compose/archive/devel.tar.gz
Install podman-compose using curl
Using curl is my preferred method:
curl -o /usr/local/bin/podman-compose https://raw.githubusercontent.com/containers/podman-compose/devel/podman_compose.py
chmod +x /usr/local/bin/podman-compose
Verify installation
Run:
podman-compose --version
or
podman-compose --help
