Git can be easily installed on CentOS 9 within the dnf system packages. Let’s see how to install Git on CentOS 9.

Prerequisites

  • CentOS 9
  • sudo privileges

Install Git on CentOS 9

Step 1. Make sure that the dnf packages are up to date.

sudo dnf update

Step 2. Install Git.

sudo dnf install git

Step 3. Verify installation.

git --version

git version 2.36.1
